The vast experiences of both individuals in cryptocurrency research, which had seen them, author over 30 papers with over 700 citations, led to a collaboration to create the interlay network and Kintsugi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The road to Kintsugi started when OXCLAIM, a paper describing and enumerating the processes and steps towards creating the first-ever decentralized protocol to transform cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin to Ethereum cost-effectively and fairly, was presented in 2018. Harz and Alexei later found that interlay in 2020 to bring the research into practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kintsugi project aims to enable Bitcoin users to interact in a decentralized fashion using their assets within the DeFi world that is expanding on the Kusama, Polkadot, and Ethereum platforms.
