With the aim of improving smart contracts with reliable data, Tellor was founded to serve as a DeFi alternative to off-chain data through trusted miners with stakes on the platform. These minors create organic competition and seek to retrieve off-chain pricing data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For miners, the system\u2019s smart contract sifts through the queries with the highest price tag every 5 minutes so they can select the data mining task that pays the most in Tributes. To ensure reliability along this process, miners must submit their Proof-of-Work to the Tellor contract. After five values have been received, the data is saved on-chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Miners get paid after they have been selected for the task. About 48 hours after the data has been mined, Tellor holders can dispute the validity of the data, and if the value is false, miners automatically lose their TRB stake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
