200 ETH in NFTs Stolen: Yuga Labs’ Discord Server Hacked
It looks like the team at Yuga Labs has confirmed that their Discord server was recently hacked and that a significant amount of NFTs was stolen as a result. According to their post on Twitter, it appears that around 200 ETH worth of NFTs were taken from the server.
This is certainly a major setback for the team, and they are currently working on increasing security measures to ensure that something like this doesn’t happen again. In the meantime, they have urged anyone who may have information about the hack to come forward so that they can assist with the investigation.
Yuga Labs is currently working with law enforcement in order to track down the culprit and recover the stolen NFTs. In the meantime, they have advised all users to change their passwords and enable Two-Factor Authentication on their accounts. They have also temporarily disabled trading on their platform as a precautionary measure.

According to Richard, the attacker also posted a phishing link on the SPS Discord channel; however, the message was subsequently deleted after it was discovered.
In a message sent on Discord at 9:00 UTC, Richard Vagner wrote,
Hey, @everyone we were hacked an hour ago hopefully no one clicked any links.
Vagner’s remark was in response to a comment made by another user who said they were able to regain control of the Discord server as well as Boris’s account; thank goodness he did not destroy the entire server.
It is unknown who, if anyone, in the SBS channel was impacted by the attack; nonetheless, Richard has requested information about the incident from the members of Discord.
Since the attack, Richard has been in communication with the members of Discord to try and gain more information about what happened. He has also requested that anyone who may have clicked on the phishing link come forward so that he can assess the damage.
So far, there is no word on who was behind the attack or what their motivations were. However, it is clear that they had a significant amount of planning and knowledge in order to pull it off successfully.
It remains to be seen how this will impact them going forward, but one thing is for sure: they will need to be much more careful about security in the future.
