Al Gore

Al Gore, best known as an American politician and environmentalist, recently discussed digital technology, specifically blockchain technology, and claimed that decentralized money is the way forward for the world.

Elsewhere, Gore has stated he is a Bitcoin enthusiast and has reportedly dabbled in cryptocurrency investments. However, the total amount of said investments, if any, was not made public.

He said, “When Bitcoin currency is converted from currency into cash, that interface has to remain under some regulatory safeguards. I think the fact that within the Bitcoin universe an algorithm replaces the functions of [the government] … is actually pretty cool.”
