ConsenSys, a private blockchain software technology company that creates decentralized applications utilizing the Ethereum platform, has debuted a new learning platform for all those who want to join the Web3 space. The blockchain company is widely known for its crypto wallet MetaMask, which is one of the most-used decentralized crypto wallets and recently raised $450 million from Anthos Capital, C Ventures, ParaFi Capital, Sound Ventures, and Temasek Holdings.

According to an announcement from ConsenSys, the company’s newest initiative is MetaMask Learn, a “learning simulation platform to help users orient themselves in the world of web3 and self-custodial wallets.” The platform will combine “visual learning with action-oriented testing to provide a compelling and engaging way to understand complex Web3 concepts.”

It is also crucial to note that the platform will be available in 10 languages, which will increase its accessibility and adoption. It will provide an interactive environment to allow more people to understand and onboard with the world of Web3 and decentralized solutions.

“MetaMask Learn is a free-to-use resource available in 10 languages for anyone interested in learning about web3. It provides an interactive MetaMask UI environment to help onboard those new to self-custody, and guides users through the most common topics to help them get started in web3,” said the ConsenSys announcement.

Citing a survey conducted by Morning Consult and commissioned by ConsenSys, the blockchain company stated that the recent bankruptcies and withdrawal halts in the crypto space have shaken trust in custodial services. The company noted that there are not many people who know or understand self-custody and alternatives to custody solutions.

As per the survey conducted on 1505 crypto holders in the US, “three quarters of respondents did not know or were unsure of what self-custody was.”

“MetaMask believes supporting web3 enthusiasts to learn about self-custody in a simulated environment will increase trust and give consumers the confidence they need to participate in the web3 ecosystem in a safe, self-managed way,” ConsenSys added.

MetaMask Learn can be accessed via learn.metamask.io for free. The Web3 course has been described as “a series of interactive lessons” via which “MetaMask Learn will show you what Web3 is, why it’s important to you, and how to use MetaMask along the way.” ConsenSys added that it wants to share its “enthusiasm for the Web3 of today, and empower you to build, explore, and participate in the world of tomorrow.”

“While we strive to make the product speak for itself, users were often disoriented when searching the web to understand topics more deeply,” said Dan Finlay, co-founder of MetaMask, while adding that MetaMask Learn gives users a “beautiful and information rich foundation for taking their next steps into the web3 ecosystem by combining visual learning with action-oriented testing.”

The co-founders of MetaMask recently stated that most of the crypto projects are unsafe and operating like Ponzi schemes. The executives believe that investing in crypto is currently like gambling due to a lack of regulations.
