Interestingly, multiple personalities in the blockchain space have been recently found dead, and these cases have attracted the attention of the industry.

According to a report from the NY Post, Fernando Pérez Algaba, 41, a well-known Instagram influencer and crypto millionaire, was found murdered and chopped up in a bag by a group of children in Argentina. The police have opened an investigation into the matter, and one possible suspect has already been arrested in connection with the case.

The crypto millionaire was reported missing on July 18 when he failed to answer his phone and was unable to return the keys to his rented apartment. Interestingly, not less than a week later, the influencer’s remains were found in a bag in the town of Ingeniero Budge, a province of the Argentine capital.

The suitcase contained amputated forearms and legs, and the torso was discovered by authorities on July 24 after draining the stream where the suitcase was found. On the other hand, the head of the crypto millionaire was found later, on July 25. Moreover, the analysis of the fingerprints and the tattoos confirmed that the dismembered person was Algaba himself.

Analysis also suggested that Algaba was shot three times before he was dismembered. Police believe that this crime had a professional outfit and also stated that the potential motive behind the crypto millionaire’s murder was debt. The victim was also a crypto trader in Buenos Aires, where he operated an office that employed 25 other traders.

On the other hand, Algaba has also amassed a huge number of Instagram followers. At the time of writing, his followers stood at 923,000. His Instagram content revolved around luxury cars and his beloved dog. Additionally, the crypto millionaire had a debt of 900,000 Argentine pesos ($3,300) in bounced checks, 1.2 million Argentine pesos ($4,400) owed to banks, and another debt of $70,000, again related to a bounced check.

As per another report, the crypto millionaire received threatening messages prior to his death.

“I’m going to kill you, I’m going to do something worse to you,” a man said in a voice message to Fernando Pérez Algaba. “I’m going to gouge out your eyes and cut off your hands so that you can’t have any more money in your life.”

“I swear on my children that I have no problem going to jail,” the man, identified only by his surname Iglesias by Argentinian outlet Télam, said.
