PUMA Debuts Black Station, a 3D Metaverse Experience
- PUMA has officially debuted Black Station, a 3D metaverse experience open to all.
- The experience was first announced in September 2022 and described as a “hub for digital experiences.”
- Black Station will provide “unbridled access” for the holders of the Puma Pass NFTs.
- The experience will remain accessible between June 13 and June 20.
PUMA, a German footwear multinational corporation, has officially debuted Black Station, a 3D metaverse experience that has been described as “a unique digital environment that enables you to experience our products from an entirely fresh perspective,” by the developers. This marks the firm’s entry into the metaverse industry, which has found increased usage among major conglomerates.
As per the official Twitter post back in March, Black Station is PUMA’s “hub for digital experiences” and will open for all its users on June 13. The developers confirmed that Black Station is an “experiential home” for product drops built to provide “unbridled access” for the holders of the Puma Pass non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
“If you do not own an RB token there is still so much to explore. Unkai, our city in the clouds, and Unter, our exhilarating club below, both are filled with mysteries to explore and collect,” said the developers of the PUMA Black Station.
While everyone will be allowed to explore the experience provided by PUMA’s Black Station, only those who own the RB tokens airdropped to Puma Pass holders will be able to buy a digital “Rulebreaker” sneaker and claim two digital wearables. As per the data from OpenSea, the price of 1 RB token at the time of writing is around 0.0129 Ether (ETH).
Those who own the RB tokens will be able to burn these tokens between June 13 and June 20, and the parent wallet will be granted access to a number of digital products that will be released in the Black Station. There are many more NFT drops and general events prepared for this year, with a multitude of events being planned for 2024.
While PUMA previously revealed that it would experience another chain, it has remained stuck with Ethereum, and the Black Station experience will remain open until June 23. Furthermore, it is also possible for people to purchase digital collectibles via credit card by connecting their wallets via Ether (ETH).
PUMA unveiled the Black Station back in September 2022, describing it as “a dynamic destination to visit, connecting consumers with various web3 activations emerging over the course of the next year and beyond.”
As reported by BitcoinWisdom in an August 2022 report, during the bear market, luxury brands Adidas, Gucci, Nike, and Dolce & Gabbana made a combined $260 million from NFT sales. PUMA’s competitor, Nike, generated $185.3 million in revenue, while secondary market volumes were close to $1.3 billion at that time.
