Tether CTO Hesitant while Revealing Bitcoin Mining Locations
- Tether CTO Paolo Ardoino refused to disclose the location of the firm’s new Bitcoin mining site.
- Images of the new site’s control room were circulated, and Ardoino said that it will be operational in a few weeks.
- The image consisted of multiple containers with photoshopped logos of the stablecoin issuer on them.
- Ardoino said that the Bitcoin mining site is present in Latin America but did not disclose the exact location.
The chief technology officer of stablecoin issuer Tether, Paolo Ardoino, had to face the rumors of the firm’s Bitcoin mining operations and the whereabouts of the operations. Interestingly, the executive has been silent when asked about the location of the farms but dropped a few hints regarding the same. Images of large containers branded with the photoshopped logo of the firm were circulating online as well.
A photo was posted by the Tether executive on August 26 on his official account on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), which initiated rumors of the firm’s Bitcoin mining operations and its location. Interestingly, the image consisted of multiple containers with photoshopped logos of the stablecoin issuer on them, and Ardoino left the crypto community to ponder the details of the image.
In a later post, the Tether CTO confirmed that the image actually shows the control room of one of the firm’s new Bitcoin mining sites and that the work is currently in progress. Ardoino said that his firm will soon begin operations once the facility is complete. Interestingly, numerous users questioned the location of the mining farm, and the CTO firmly stated that he would not reveal the location of the Bitcoin mining rigs.
However, he did say that the Bitcoin mining farm can be on the continent of South America but did not add anything more, disappointing his followers. “Where? In LATAM. We tend to not share exact locations to avoid personnel harassment, a valid concern given the amount of detractors obsessed with Tether,” said the executive while noting that there have been speculations that the Bitcoin mining site is not real.
“You can almost hear some of them screaming: “NOOOOOOOO if you don’t tell us the address, zip code, surname of the cow that is eating the grass nearby, then it’s not real!!!!!”
Ardoino also confirmed that the “site is progressing well; everyone in the team is super excited and working around the clock to start operations in the next few weeks.”
As reported earlier by BitcoinWisdom, Tether announced that it would soon debut new mining software for mining machines, including WhatsMiner, AvalonMiner, and Antminer, which will enhance the efficiency of Bitcoin mining operations.
