Anonymous on Terra’s Do Kwon
According to the hacking team, Kwon has been siphoning about $80 million from Terra every month. More so, it claims that the Terra founder played a devastating role in the decline of stablecoin, Basis cash allegedly initiated in 2020 under the pseudonym “Rick Sanchez”.
Anonymous insisted that these efforts grossly crippled the Terra (LUNA) and Terra USD (UST) ecosystems in May. More so, the hacktivist group regretted that no control measures can be deployed to unravel the damages caused to the project by Kwon.
However, Anonymous maintains its resolve to hold the co-founder accountable for the devastation and ensure that justice prevails in the matter very soon.
In addition, the team disclosed the plan to further probe the actions and inactions of Kwon since he ventured into the crypto industry. According to them, the need to fully expose the alleged atrocities of the co-founder necessitates such commitment. In the video, Anonymous group indicted Kwon of arrogantly trolling close competitors and critics.
As of press time, the recent video by the team has generated a series of controversies, particularly among the members of the Terra community. As observed, while some members of the community on Twitter commended Anonymous for resolving to expose Kwon’s atrocities, few others slammed the group, stressing that it made empty threats.
Founded in 2003, the Anonymous functions as a global hacktivist group, notable for masterminding varieties of cyber exploitations and breaches against the government and private institutions, agencies and ventures. More so, the group has over time been involved in international activism.
For instance, it once slammed a popular billionaire and CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk for allegedly “destroying lives” with his heavy influence and power on Twitter. The group in a 2021 dig at Musk accused the CEO of toying with the crypto markets with his influence.
Till now, TerraForm Labs is battling a series of investigations masterminded by Authorities in South Korea. Investigations are ongoing on how the irm was involved in the misappropriation of Bitcoin from its treasury.
Accordingly, the authorities mandated Grim Reapers of Yeouido, a financial crimes investigation agency to probe the circumstances that led to the collapse of Terra. Notably, the authorities also slammed a $78 million fine on the firm for evading taxes.
