Whistleblower Edward Snowden Calls Craig Wright A Fraud

  • Edward Snowden, ex-NSA officer and whistleblower, called Craig Wright, the self-proclaimed founder and creator of Bitcoin (BTC), a fraud.
  • Wright, who claims to be Satoshi Nakamoto, stated that he was never anonymous when the whistleblower posted a celebatory image of Bitcoin whitepaper on its 14th birthday.
  • Snowden called out Wright and asked him to keep his story straigher before trying to convince people that he is the real Satoshi Nakamoto.

Edward Snowden, one of the most popular personalities in the crypto and tech space who is known for leaking crucial data from the National Security Agency in 2013, has called Craig Wright, the self-proclaimed founder and creator of Bitcoin (BTC), the world’s oldest and largest cryptocurrency, a fraud after the latter accused the whistleblower of being a traitor for leaking important information.

The argument broke out when Snowden published the Bitcoin whitepaper on his Twitter account in celebration of the renowed document’s 14th birthday. The ex-NSA officer noted that Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of the Bitcoin whitepaper and the cryptocurrency and blockchain network itself, remains unidentified and anonymous.

Snowden stated that the creator of Bitcoin remains anonymous and this is “remarkable.” However, this did not sit well with Wright who claims himself to be Satoshi Nakamoto but the crypto community is having a hard time in accepting that fact.

“I was never anonymous you traitorous scum,”

Craig said while berrating Snowden.

On the other hand, Snowden responded in his own way by reminding Wright of his recent loss to popular Bitcoiner “Hodlonaut” on Twitter. The case was closed earlier in October and involved the settlement of a dispute between Wright and the ex-NSA office.

Remember two weeks ago when the court affirmed that @hodlonaut calling you a “pathetic scammer,” “cringe,” “clearly mentally ill,” and (repeatedly) a “fraud” was A-OK? And ordered you to pay like $348,257? lmao welcome to law!

Snowden retaliated.

The whistleblower added that Wright is just a scam and is not the real Satoshi Nakamoto through this lawsuit win of Hodlonaut. Wright claims to have spent years in “anonymity and hiding” as Satoshi while many believe that this is not the case and the Australian computer scientist and businessman is only seeking public attention and fame.

“And hey while we’re playing the memory game, the next time you want to tell Twitter you were never anonymous, try and keep your story straight, you miserable corncob. “Dude can’t even commit fraud properly. Just embarrassing,”

said Snowden and ended the battle.

Snowden is a huge fan of Bitcoin (BTC) and a huge critic of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). He is also the critic of the base Bitcoin network but is a huge fan of the Lightning Network which he believes has made transactions ““basically instantaneous.”

On the other hand, the whistleblower called CBDCs “cryptofascist currencies” that could “casually [annihilate] the savings of every wage-worker.” These are blockchain-based fiat currencies that have become popular concept in the industry.

The ex-NSA officer stated that a “CBDC is something closer to being a perversion of cryptocurrency, or at least of the founding principles and protocols of cryptocurrency.”
