Polygon Labs Announces Partnership with Unstoppable Domain
- The new domain name will enable users to expand their digital identity across over 750 decentralized applications on Polygon.

Unstoppable Domains, a decentralized domain provider, and Polygon Labs are collaborating to launch the .polygon domain, which can be used across a variety of decentralized apps on the Ethereum sidechain. Users can leverage the new domain to expand their Polygon-based identity.
Also, domain owners will be able to send NFTs and cryptocurrencies and develop Polygon-based websites. According to the official announcement, the domain name will grant owners access to more than 700 decentralized apps, metaverses, and games.
An estimated 180 million users and 40,000 services across Polygon will have access to the domain name service. According to reports, more than 3,7 million domains have been registered on Polygon.
Reacting to the partnership, Sanket Shah, Vice President and head of growth business development at Polygon Labs, said,
Web3 domains will give our community a digital identity that they fully own, so they can log into dApps without giving away their personal information and transact crypto without lengthy wallet addresses. We’re thrilled to make user-owned digital identity a core part of the Polygon ecosystem.
Sandy Carter, chief operating officer and head of business development at Unstoppable Domains, noted that the partnership is mutually beneficial to both platforms. Carter noted that “user-owned digital identity is the future of the Internet, and with the Polygon ecosystem, we’re putting the power of user-owned digital identities into more people’s hands.”
Decentralized domain services have grown in popularity in recent days. For example, Unstoppable Domains enables users to build profiles, link them to their social media accounts, showcase badges, and display on-chain tokens like awards and tickets off-chain.
According to the announcement, Unstoppable Domains will offer access to premium “.polygon” gaming and digit domains from March 16.
